A network built by neighbors
Small radios, solar power, and a lot of help from the community. Here's what it is and how you can be part of it.
What it is
Our community network is a web of small, low-power radios spread across Western New York. Each one can pass a short text message along to the next, so a message can travel across town and beyond without cell towers, internet, or the power grid.
Repeaters on rooftops and other high places help messages travel farther. Many run on solar panels and batteries, so they keep working through an outage.
Who it's for
Everyone. Families checking on each other after a storm, neighbors looking out for one another, and community groups that want a dependable backup. You don't need a license or a technical background to use it.
The network is a community backup for staying in touch. It is not monitored by emergency services. Always call 911 in an emergency if you can.
Join the network
Our network currently runs on a system called MeshCore. Everything you need to get started, including which radio to get, setup guides, the coverage map, and our friendly Discord community, is on our network site.

A tall building, a sunny rooftop, or a spot with a wide view can help a whole neighborhood stay connected. If you can offer a location, we'd love to talk.
